Teenage dancers chosen
YOUNG dancers from Huddersfield New College were selected to perform at a prestigious showcase.
The 13 performing arts students and members of Elan Dance Company, aged 16-19, took part in Dansopolis at Lawrence Batley Theatre.
The event, organised by Yorkshire Dance, celebrated youth and community dance across the county.
Everybody gets a chance to dance in Benji’s show
IT IS a chance for dancers from across the region and from all walks of life to strut their stuff.
Dansopolis is a dance showcase, now in its fourth year. But when the show opens at the Lawrence Batley Theatre tonight, with a repeat performance tomorrow, it will be the first time it has been seen in Huddersfield.

Wayne Sables residency at Yorkshire Dance
Wayne Sables Project are currently devising two new shows at Yorkshire Dance which will tour around the UK in 2008/9.
The male piece is titled 'Is this me?' and the female piece 'Only Human'.
Wayne will be leading professional classes each morning during the residency and the company will perform the new shows on Friday 11 July 2008.

Yorkshire Youth Dance Regional Platform
17 February 2008 - Lawrence Batley Theatre, Huddersfield
The evening showcased youth dance groups from across the region performing a selection of dance works. These groups performed to impress a regional panel for the opportunity to represent the region at the National Youth Dance Festival 2008 in London.
Thank you to all the young people who took part and to everyone who came and supported the event. The three groups representing Yorkshire at the National Youth Dance Festival in London are:
Momentum Youth Dance Company, Wakefield
RJC Youth Dance, Leeds
North Yorkshire County Youth Dance Company
