Big Dance 2008

Welcome to Yorkshire’s Big Dance 2008

Yorkshire Dance is delighted to be coordinating Big Dance in Yorkshire for Arts Council England, Yorkshire.

Big Dance is a national initiative, which takes place every two years, and you can take part in the fun during 5-13 July this summer.

Whether a dance fan, a recent covert or just curious, Big Dance will have something for you!

Below are just some of the events taking place within the Yorkshire region during Big Dance 2008.

For further info and more event listings please keep your eyes peeled at www.bigdance.org.uk where individuals and groups from across Yorkshire will be uploading their exciting events in the lead up to Big Dance.

If you yourself run a local dance class or are thinking of putting on a performance then why not do it during Big Dance week and become part of the action?!

Saturday 5 July @ Yorkshire Dance
Come down to Briggate in Leeds and be part of a ‘Silent Disco’. Be sure to bring your mp3 player / mobile phone and headphones, so you can dance along with everyone else there and create a crazy ‘silent disco’ party! The event kicks off at 12:30pm with various dance workshops for you to watch or take part in, leading into the ‘silent disco’ at 2:00pm.

Sunday 6 July @ Yorkshire Dance
Yorkshire Dance in partnership with most major dance companies in Yorkshire will be holding a Free Open House and will be offering a whole range of dance workshops for everybody, to come and have a go.

No experience is necessary to take part in any of the classes.

Throughout the day there will be refreshments served in the foyer and the opportunity to take part in other exciting activities at Yorkshire Dance.

To avoid disappointment please remember classes are subject to availability and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis on the day.
